Saturday Social – Volunteers wanted!
Saturday Social will be a community hub where everyone is welcome to share brunch at St Peter’s on a Saturday morning from 10 am until noon. Our vision is of a long table at which everyone is welcome. Saturday Social will build on the existing success of Table Tops, and hopefully the same volunteers will be able to help set up and pack up for both.
We are looking for volunteers to welcome people and to help make tea and toast. If you are interested, speak to Rev’d Joel.
The Open Church Initiative
The Open Church initiative is an extension of the Prayer and Healing Ministry which is designed to reach out further into the wider parish community. People are invited to come in any time between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm for a period of silent reflection or to access prayer ministry. Rev’d Folake will be available each time with the support of one or two members of the Prayer and Healing Ministry team. Open Church will take place once month. Whilst for this purpose both St. Margaret’s and St. Peter’s will be opened in the summer months, only St Peter’s will be opened in winter. Our first trial took place on Thursday 21st June at St. Peter’s Church between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm. The next Open Church took place on Thursday 26th July. There will be no Open Church in August but it will resume again in the autumn on dates to be announced.
